28th July - 4th August 2018 Photos Itinerary Mike was based with Rovers at the YHA in Leominster , while Suki and I stayed in a cottage a few minutes drive away - The Owl Barn near Kimbolton. Just a few days after the Barnes Summer Trip we were off on the Roving Ringers week. At the last minute it seemed that no-one was going to be organising the catering, so I ended up taking this on - with the help of a suggested menu and shopping list from Becky, who would be providing the meat. I cooked a vegetable pasta sauce for the first night, and then did a huge online Sainsbury order to be delivered direct to the hostel on the Saturday night. This worked extremely well - and it was certainly much more pleasant to sit in the garden on my computer than pushing two trolleys around a supermarket and then packing/unpacking the car. It was just as well we did it like that as there wasn't much room in the car for shopping once we had got all our stuff and the handbike and
It was lovely having a houseful this morning. Sam said the futons were comfortable, which is good to know. I took Suki for a walk and then went to Westfields with Lorraine, Sam, Amanda and Bethany. I took Suki out again in the afternoon and then we went off to Baden Powell House for Goldsmiths rehearsal. We got baguettes from Pauls again, and I also took a flask of coffee as it was the final, long rehearsal tonight. We got home quite quickly on the tube and I finished off the coffee and had a sake before going to bed and watching another episode of Doc Martin. Rather annoyingly this one didn't follow on from the previous two (which had b
Went up to the Woodland Trust car park at Bovey Valley woods and explored the path off to the right which went along by the river and was very pleasant. I then followed a little path through the woods at the end, over a stile, and came out on the track a little way down. Did the Hisley bridge circuit to get back to the car park. Went to handbells in the evening - Lisa came too. She rang 11-12 and I rang 9-10 and had to turn the pages and generally help her! I have moved up to P and she now has the L plates!
