Finishing off February

So I got to the end of February and stopped blogging for a while.  The trouble is the longer I left it the harder it became to start again.  So I am going to catch up February to June and kick start the blogging again.

Went to appointment at Charing Cross for removal of ingrowing eye lash.  They were somewhat bemused that I had been referred to hospital, and pulled it out with a pair of tweezers.  They have put me down for laser removal in August – but between now and then I shall watch for it growing again and see if I can pull it out with tweezers myself.  If I can, I will cancel laser appointment.

End of February saw the Barnes Ringers AGM – followed by Annual Dinner in the Melvill Room - Penny Dupre did the catering this time.  I wore one of my new tops, and experimented with leaving my hair down.  It looked ok when I left the house but later it looked awful and billowed out around my head.   I shan't repeat the experiment until I have found someone I trust to layer it properly!

Handbells: have scored a couple more peals in hand, one of Turramurra on Trebles at Guys and one of Superlative on 5-6 which coursed throughout with Steve, Hamish and Margaret.  Had some more attempts at the 4xspliced without success.

Butlins 2018

17 - 24th August 2018 Butlin's Bognor Regis Two 2-bedroomed "Seaside" apartments John, Carolyn, Me, Lorraine, Amanda, Leanne, Ollie, Bethany, Harrison, Aidan Photos I drove down to Bognor in the morning and arrived about 1 pm.  I got myself a sandwich and a coffee in the pavilion (and watched the Teletubbies show!) and then I walked to the station to meet the train with John, Carolyn, Leanne, Ollie and Aidan on board.  They weren't expecting me - and it was such a nice surprise we decided to go and meet the later train with the Majorca contingent on board. Goodbye Mary

We set off for Devon and became concerned by the gantries stating that there was a 3-hour delay at J 16 of the M4.  We kept going and the signs didn't change - so we used Google maps on my phone to find an alternative route.  It was really good - it didn't follow the official diversion (which was queuing from the motorway) but took us along roads which ran parallel to the motorway - bringing us back on at J18.  We only took about 40 mins longer and got to Bovey at 1.30 - giving us 15 mins for a cup of tea before our meeting with the vicar at 2.  The meeting didn't last long - everything for the funeral seemed to be in hand, even the refreshments which were being organised by the Mothers Union. Then we both took Suki for a walk in Stover before popping up to Tracey House for Mary's handbag and a few bits. My January Week in Devon

I drove down to Bovey on Sunday 13th - leaving after church and bellringing, and arriving about 3 pm.  It was great to be there again and I relished the thought of a few days on my own doing my own thing.  The house was absolutely boiling inside, with the radiators all pumping out heat, even though the thermostat was set at 10 degrees - which was the equivalent of the outside temperature that day.  I couldn't make it click at any setting - although once I had turned the heating off for a while and then turned it on again in the evening it seemed to work ok for the rest of the week (typical). The first thing I did was to install the new bedside cabinets I had bought - they looked great. I even lined the drawers - and it was a good opportunity to sort the drawers out too. Then I put the new bedding on which Jayne had given me for my birthday in 2017!  It was pretty and lovely and soft to the touch Suki loved the new bedding so much she wouldn't get up the ...
