Saturday 1st November

Mike went off on the District Outing all day.  Lorraine and I went into the loft all morning and sorted all her stuff out and repacked it in the space left by Amanda's stuff.  Got some of my rubbish down to throw away or give to Convent for bric a brac stall.  It was very satisfying to see nice large space now by the entrance hatch.

We set off for Devon and became concerned by the gantries stating that there was a 3-hour delay at J 16 of the M4.  We kept going and the signs didn't change - so we used Google maps on my phone to find an alternative route.  It was really good - it didn't follow the official diversion (which was queuing from the motorway) but took us along roads which ran parallel to the motorway - bringing us back on at J18.  We only took about 40 mins longer and got to Bovey at 1.30 - giving us 15 mins for a cup of tea before our meeting with the vicar at 2.  The meeting didn't last long - everything for the funeral seemed to be in hand, even the refreshments which were being organised by the Mothers Union. Then we both took Suki for a walk in Stover before popping up to Tracey House for Mary's handbag and a few bits. Butlins 2018

17 - 24th August 2018 Butlin's Bognor Regis Two 2-bedroomed "Seaside" apartments John, Carolyn, Me, Lorraine, Amanda, Leanne, Ollie, Bethany, Harrison, Aidan Photos I drove down to Bognor in the morning and arrived about 1 pm.  I got myself a sandwich and a coffee in the pavilion (and watched the Teletubbies show!) and then I walked to the station to meet the train with John, Carolyn, Leanne, Ollie and Aidan on board.  They weren't expecting me - and it was such a nice surprise we decided to go and meet the later train with the Majorca contingent on board. Waiting at the station for the train We had a lovely week doing all the usual things - it was nice for us all to be together again and spend some time together.  I tried to keep my step total up each day - and found pushing a pram to put either Aidan or Harrison (or both!) to sleep was a useful way of doing this.  I also walked into Bognor almost every day!  I also spent a lot of time at the ...

Saturday 19 October

Latest start yet!  Got up at 8.40.  Suki s leg no better.  Mike went off to Barnes.  Lorraine went to pick up Amanda and then to Carolyn's. I spent the morning changing the beds and doing washing.  Cleared linen cupboard of old towels.  Piled them up in extension for now.  Put sun bed upstairs ready for loft and moved beer to give more space.  Tidied top of organ which had become a dumping ground.  Phoned vets around 11.45 expecting to get answerphone message with weekend emergency arrangements and was pleasantly surprised to find they were open till 1 and had an appointment free at 12.45.  Walked suki to the vet.  We shared the pain.  She hopped along on three legs and when she had enough I carried her until my wrists gave out.  Alternated like that all the way there and back.  Vet gave her anti inflammatory injection and some pain relief medicine for me to give her each day.  Spent the rest of the day cross sti...
